Forgetting to put on the right pair of earrings can no longer cause embarrassments.  Mismatch earrings are in trend now. They can either be based on two complementing things- like the flower and bee or lock and key or bow and arrow.  Or it could be just the same design of differing lengths- one short as a stud and the other as a long dangle earring. One of the early designs included  a flower and a cut-out of a flower pair. The idea became a hit and several other earrings were designed on the same line. Such type of earrings work best to symbolize two contradicting aspects- like the sword on one side and a rose on the other, or man on one side and woman on the other.

Mismatched earrings gained popularity after designed Betsey Johnson came up with her own collection of cute dangle earrings. I picked up some of them for you.

Feeling creative? Then go ahead and make your own mismatch earrings. Here are some tips:-

1.Brainstorm complementary things that could be mismatched.

2. Stick to a metal or to a designer. For example, sterling silver tea pot earrings could be mismatched with tea cup earrings made with the same metal. You could even pair up Eiffel tower with a camera!

3. Once your match, Sorry! mismatch is made, advertise it. How? Keep one pair for yourself and gift the other to your friend.

4. You don’t always have to look for complementary things. We have our own designer Betsey Johnson who paired up cow and rose for mismatch earrings. After all, that’s what a mismatch is all about!!!
